New Year, New Kitty Art at Whitby Galleries

Happy New Year everyone! January is almost over already and I’ve been unusually busy for the start of the year. I’ve spent the best part of January, so far, working on a new order of kitty paintings for Whitby Galleries. The first week was supposed to be spent sorting out my work space. Instead it was spent feeling like poo on the sofa with the dreaded Winter bug.

Thankfully it wasn’t as bad as everyone else who I know that’s had it. Unfortunately, its presence extended in to my Whitby schedule and so the order was inevitably delayed by a few days.

There’s no particular theme this month so I’ve gone for a nice varied bunch. I also apologize for the photo quality. My trusty Nikon’s battery had died when I went to take photos. No time to charge it as I was packing everything up to catch the Post Office before it closed. Hopefully these phone shots will do. 2019 is off to a great start!

As I was still feeling the effects of the Winter bug, a lot of the paintings are of things I enjoy and make me smile (other than the cats of course!) Coffee, gardening, rivers, books, sleeping. Hopefully, it’s things you enjoy too and I hope you’ve also spotted something unusual.

It’s not just cats this month!

Joining the usual collection of 10 cat painting this month are a couple of much wilder animals. A fox and a rabbit. I hope that these countryside critters are as well received as my kitties. Loved painting them and it’s nice to be able to paint something a little bit different.

In fact, it’s one of my New Year’s Resolutions. To spend a little bit of time each week (if I can) painting or sketching other animals. I already do this from time to time. Not as much as I’d like, though. While I love painting cats, it can’t hurt to expand my horizons.
