The Owl and the Pussycat Exhibition

I’m incredibly excited to announce that The Owl and the Pussycat Exhibition at the Inverarity Gallery will run from May 4th until June 23rd! I can’t believe how quickly time has passed. It feels like only yesterday I was contemplating whether to paint on cradled wood or my usual paper.

As I explained in an earlier post, I decided to paint on cradled wood. I chose to illustrate different parts of the Edward Lear poem across the 5 wood panels. I’ve really enjoyed the process of producing these paintings and it’s been tough only being able to show you a few work in progress pics over the past few months.

With the exhibition now officially open I can now finally share the finished paintings with you all. I’ve absolutely loved painting on the cradled wood. I actually ordered 2 extra tiny 4 x 6 cm ones when I bought the other ones so I could get free shipping. Look out for those in the future!

Series of Illustration – The Owl and the Pussycat Exhibition

The exhibition is showcasing the work of several international artists and their personal interpretations of the poem, or just something owl or cat related. Some of my personal favourite artists are exhibiting along side my own offerings and, I must admit, I’m feeling just a little awestruck!

About the Inverarity Gallery?

The Inverarity Gallery is owned by Scottish artist Anita Inverarity. She has turned her home and studio in to a gallery and holds monthly exhibitions with artists & illustrators from around the world taking part in the shows. It operates online and by appointment viewing only and is situated in beautiful rural Alvah near the Banffshire coast in Scotland.

The exhibition opens May 4th, 2018 and will run until June 23rd, 2018. My little set of paintings illustrating the Edward Lear poem, The Owl & the Pussycat, have been painted using acrylic on cradled wood.

• Each wooden panel measures 6 x 6 inches and is around 1.5 inches in depth.
• Sides are painted black.
• Protected with a matte varnish.
• Ready to hang.
• £90 each.
