Christmas & New Year Break: 2023 is almost over!

That’s it for another year, 2023 is almost over! Christmas is 9 days away and it’s time for me to put my brushes down and enjoy the festive season. I’ll be taking a slightly longer break this year, 3 whole weeks! However, I won’t be sitting around watching Christmas movies and eating leftover turkey. Nope. Ok, I will be for some of the days but while I likely won’t be painting and creating new art during my break I do have other stuff to do.

There’s posting your orders. My Etsy and Folksy shops will remain open so you can spend some Christmas money on that notebook you saw. Hint, hint! The last day for guaranteed Christmas delivery has now passed but I’ll upgrade orders placed between December 16th and 20th to 1st Class or Tracked24 at no extra cost to you.

I also have the post pre-Christmas tidy to do, if that makes sense? It always looks like a tornado has hit the upper floor of my house at this time of year. Bits of tape and paper everywhere! As well as those annoying strips that cling to you after you pull them off the sticky part of an envelope. My ‘cardboard & flattened box’ corner is no longer confined to the corner. I need to tidy my finished art area, the products area, the to-do pile… I think you get the idea.

Then there’s non-work stuff. I need to finish buying gifts. Do all of those ‘boring’ household chores I’ve not had time for recently. I might have time to finally organise my vintage postcard collection. Hopefully read that book I bought 5 months ago. Abroad in Japan by Chris Broad, if you’re wondering.

Anyway, I think you get the idea. Although I won’t be creating, I will most definitely still be busy doing other stuff.

Thank you again for your support this year. It really means a lot. It’s been a difficult few years for small businesses like myself that sell non-essentials. Brexit, Pandemic, Cost of Living… Can’t eat a painting. So yeah, it hasn’t been the best of years for creative businesses.

I will return refreshed and ready to paint on January 8th. Let’s see what 2024 brings. Thank you all again! 🧡
