Whimsical Flower Doodles
Spring is almost upon us and I should probably be out tending to my storm damaged garden ready to plant this years veg. Instead, I’ve been stuck inside with what seems like a thousand things to do. I wouldn’t mind so much but the weather has been decent of late.

One of those things that needs doing is to add a few new designs to my A Love of Pattern store on Zazzle. I’ve had more important things to do but I’ve been stealing 10 minutes here and 20 minutes there to work on ideas for new patterns.

This is my first. A bunch of whimsical flower and nature inspired doodles from which I’m planning to create a cutesy pattern. Unlike my recent Beach Hut Pattern where I combined the sketches with digital textures and effects for this one I’m just going to use them as a guide for creating a vector based pattern.

As you can see I’ve been using my Faber-Castell PITT® Artist Pen Brushes again. I don’t think I could master creating a finished artwork with them but they’re great for sketches and doodling!
Now I just need to find the time to vectorize them.

These flower and nature doodles have such a cheerful, playful feel. I love the idea of turning them into a cutesy vector pattern, and the PITT Artist Pen Brushes seem perfect for capturing those loose sketchbook details.
