Beach Huts and Gulls Pattern
It’s been a while since I experimented with my art materials for fun. I received a box of Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pen Brushes for Christmas so a few days ago, while I had a rare hour to myself, I figured that now was as good a time as any.
I started by sketching a few seaside objects in pencil. Beach huts, seagulls, boats, and some bunting. Just something simple and whimsical that I could practice using my pens on. I have to say that I rather like my gift and they are the closest I’ve seen to having watercolour in a pen.
The result are what I think are some rather charming, if not a little messy in places, seaside doodles. In fact I loved them so much I thought I’d see what they looked like turned in to a pattern.
What do you think? After a little clean up and a play around with textures and colour shifts in Photoshop this is the final result. A cutesy little beach hut pattern.
It’s available to buy from my Society6 store on a variety of products including clocks, cards, mugs, iPhone and Samsung Galaxy cases, and art prints. I’m rather in love with the tote bags so I might just treat myself for the Summer!

Thank you Efi. I’ve never used brush pens before so I rather surprised myself. Glad you like them and I hope others do too!
