The Joys (and Not-So-Joys) of Jury Duty: Quick Update
Hey everyone!
Just wanted to check in and give you a quick update on what’s currently happening at Lisa Marie Art & Illustration. For the past week, I’ve been serving jury duty, which has been a fascinating experience so far! While it’s important for me to be doing my civic duty, it doesn’t really leave a lot of room for artistic expression in the courtroom (unless you count dramatic objections, which the judge frowns upon).
This means there will be a delay on some new goodies that I had planned for this month. I currently have a few bookmark designs I’m itching to finish, but those will have to wait until I’m back at work in about a week. Unfortunately, this also means there won’t be any new ACEO paintings hitting my eBay “store” until after jury duty wraps up. I do have one ACEO currently listed that ends on Tuesday, so if you’ve been eyeing it be sure to snag it before it’s gone! ACEO paintings are a great way to add a touch of whimsy to your art collection at an affordable price.
In the meantime, I’m using the weekend break as an opportunity to catch up on some business admin tasks (gotta keep those emails organized!), and brainstorming some new ideas for when I’m finally free to create again. I’m hoping to be back in action soon, refreshed and ready to unleash some (mostly) cat themed creativity!
In the meantime, feel free to browse my existing selection of goodies on LisaMarieArt Etsy and LisaMarieArt Folksy, or follow me on social media for sneak peeks at what’s coming up next (if I remember to post, that is!). Socials are up top in the sidebar… Yes, I know there’s a Google+ there. I need to remove it!
Thanks for your patience and support!
P.S. If any of you fellow crafters have ever served jury duty, I’d love to hear any tips you have for staying creative in a non-creative environment! My mind is so preoccupied with the trial I’m sitting on as juror, I’m having a hard time concentrating on my day job when I get the chance to do it!
