8 New Cat Paintings Heading for Whitby Galleries

Phew! My latest set of 8 cat paintings are finally finished, lovingly packaged, and on their way to Whitby Galleries and I must be honest, I didn’t think I was going to make my deadline this month. I couldn’t start painting until my watercolour paper arrived so I gave myself a little extra time to complete the order. Things were going well… Then the creative block came and an untimely trip to the dentist.

01. Bit of a Squeeze #31 — 02. A Wicker Heart
03. Like Father, Like Son — 04. The Kitty Curl

Thankfully I finished on time and I have to say that I’ve really enjoyed painting these ones. The only requirements this month were to have a good mix and one ‘Bit of a Squeeze’ painting so I got that good old fat kitty one out of the way first. Next up I painted a sleeping calico with a pot of roses and a wicker heart.

If you like tuxedos then you’re in for a treat as 5 of the 8 have them as the stars of the show. You’re quite literally spoiled for choice. As well as cat flap kitty, there are 2 cheeky tuxes in a laundry basket, a tuxedo doing a spot of yoga (I call this position the Kitty Curl!) and a couple more which I’ll get to shortly.

05. Spring FLowers — 06. Not Much of a Night Owl
07. Bathtub Tuxedos, Hidden Ginger — 08. Yarn Mountain

It was around the half way mark my creative block set in but after a look through some old work I was back at the easel. Technically it’s just a table and a piece of MDF propped up on 2 erasers but that’s besides the point!

As it’s technically spring now, although you wouldn’t think it, I couldn’t resist painting a seal-point kitty sitting among some colourful whimsical flowers and a sleepy tabby (with owl) in a tree with newly sprouted leaves. To finish things off my last 2 paintings feature more of those lovable tuxedos. The first is a bathroom scene and while the 2 tuxedos are eager for their bath, the ginger tabby isn’t so keen. The second, and last, painting is of a peaceful tuxedo sleeping on a huge pile of yarn. As you can see it’s quite a mix and I hope that you can all find at least one favourite among them.

It’s almost the end of the week but I still have a few things left to do. Watch for a new ACEO on ebay tomorrow (if all goes planned) and I’m hoping to get some new magnets and other products added to my Zazzle store.

Oh, and I still have a few greeting cards left for sale on ebay!
