New Whitby Galleries Collection: Whimsical Animals, Cosy Cats, and Countryside Charm
Step into a world of autumnal beauty, countryside charm, and heartwarming cosiness with my latest collection for Whitby Galleries. This new set of paintings feature a delightful mix of woodland wildlife, adventurous dachshunds, and cats in all their mischievous glory, painted in my signature whimsical style.
This collection has been such a joy to work on! I know I say that about every collection, but painting is when I am at my happiest, and I’m continuing to explore the wildlife theme, which has become a firm favourite with you all, alongside my ever-loved cats. Whether it’s the peaceful stillness of a badger under the moonlight or the playful curiosity of a tuxedo cat placing its bum where it shouldn’t, I try to make every painting I create tell a unique story.
As always, my cats are as full of purrs-onality. There’s a grey tabby sailor cat lounging on a crate at the harbor, inviting you with its warm, welcoming expression. A tuxedo cat enjoys the fragrant beauty of the pink roses perfectly nestled in a wicker basket, but whether kitty is allowed to sit in the basket is a question we all know the answer to!. For a cosy seasonal touch, a sleeping ginger cat is bundled in a warm scarf with its toy mouse close by, reminding us to embrace the comforts of colder days.
For those who adore autumn-inspired scenes, there’s a ginger cat sitting among fallen leaves and a countryside-inspired grey tabby surrounded by flowers, mushrooms, and a tree stump — with a subtle nod to Whitby Abbey on a distant hill. And let’s not forget the ever-cheerful dachshund! Wearing a cosy sweater, this little dog takes a well deserved break while on a countryside stroll, bringing a smile to anyone who sees it.
Finally, this collection wouldn’t be complete without a sprinkling of woodland magic! A sleepy red fox rests peacefully in a quiet woodland setting, with mushrooms and wildflowers. An owl peers out from its home inside a tree, surrounded by grasses and fungi. And, of course, there’s a badger enjoying the serenity of a moonlit night, surrounded by wildflowers and grasses.
Creating these paintings has truly been a labour of love, and the last Whitby Galleries collection of 2024. I hope they bring a little magic and joy into your day, and don’t forget to follow me on social media for work in progress and behind the scenes photos, as well as product updates and general arty stuff that I’m up to.
