New Whitby Galleries Collection: Whimsical Cat Paintings, Playful Pets, and More
Step into a whimsical world where playful cats, enchanting wildlife, and a joyful dachshund come to life in my latest collection for Whitby Galleries. A perfect mix of autumnal charm and nighttime magic, these little paintings capture the changing seasons. From cats exploring both indoors and out, to wildlife under the moonlit sky, and a cheerful sausage dog embracing the autumn breeze, each piece tells its own delightful story.
There hasn’t been as long of a wait for my newest Whitby collection as last time. My venture into wildlife territory has been an unexpected hit, and I’m rather enjoying the change of scenery. Cats will always be my animal of choice, and what I’m most known for, but as an animal lover I always have room in my repetoire for more cuddly critters.
Each painting in this collection captures a unique moment inspired by the magic of nature, the warmth of home, and the charm of autumn. Let me share a little more about a few of the pieces and the stories behind them.
For those who love autumnal energy, there’s a joyful dachshund sporting a cozy scarf as it bounds through a flurry of fallen leaves. This little dog’s playful spirit perfectly embodies the fun and excitement of the season. A ginger tabby cat also makes an autumnal appearance, as it sits among colourful fallen leaves.
Other paintings bring the warmth and whimsy indoors. A grey tabby cat enjoys a pile of cosy socks — a reminder of those simple comforts we all cherish. Meanwhile, a black-and-white cat sits beside a tiny treasure chest, surrounded by maps and a compass, as it’s owner prepares for their next adventure.
For a touch of winter magic, a red squirrel can be found perched on a snow-covered branch, nibbling on a nut with the full moon glowing softly behind. And let’s not forget the poised ginger cat, ready to leap down from its perch in a tree, a snapshot of feline grace and curiosity.
One of my favorite wildlife-inspired pieces features a curious badger peeking over a fallen log covered in mushrooms and flowers, with a huge full moon in the background. It captures the quiet mystery of the countryside at night, where badgers roam under the cover of darkness. Another moonlit scene shows a black-and-white cat perched gracefully on a mossy stone wall, gazing at the night sky as if lost in thought.
This collection has been such a joy to create, blending seasonal vibes with a mix of mischief, cosiness, and wonder. I hope these little paintings bring a smile to your face and a touch of magic to your day.
Somehow I’ve forgotten to take group photos that include all of the paintings. I’m two short, and missing an owl and a sleeping book cat. Oh well! Be sure to pop over to instagram or my other social media accounts for a better look at those.
