My Newest Miniature Creation: A Thousand Night Lights

Another week is almost over and I’m starting to feel a little like the cat in my latest ACEO. With his bent ear, this little kitty has found the most comfortable ‘V’ in a tree and is already part way through his evening nap. A thousand fireflies, okay so maybe not quite that many, have gathered around him to softly light him as he sleeps. They don’t often get visitors!

Believe it or not, the inspiration for this piece came while I was listening to Birdhouse in your Soul by They Might be Giants. A song about a little blue canary shaped nightlight. Almost every child has one to make them feel safe at night and I figured a sleepy kitty out exploring the world on his own would need one too. Lots and lots of little ones!
